1 pint (2 cup) Wesson oil1 quart (less than ½ - 2 liter) 7-UP2 cups soy sauce1 Tb garlic powder
Half all of these ingredients if you are just doing a turkey breast. Mix ingredients, put turkey in dish, pour sauce over, leave in fridge overnight.
Breast: 300 ° for 4 hours (optional- cut- put back in sauce)
Cook 325° 30 minutes per pound. Cook in 9 x 13 inch pan and keep basting.
This is the original recipe for the turkey. At my family reunion, I cooked them in the sauce in the crock pot and they were both fairly big turkeys for about 6 hours on high. It may take less. I also did not marinate the meat over night, so cooking it in the sauce didn't make it too strong. I would baste the top of the turkey every once in awhile so it wouldn't get dry. So it works just as good in the crock pot.
